Much of art is the language of colour. My work is
essentially the colour of language. Through classical
training, and working closely with the speciality of
formal lettering, I am developing contemporary works
that encompass a more individual & meaningful style
of presentation that plays, engages, and provokes
through the medium of colour, text, letters & language.
In essence they are textural word-pictures that evoke
mood and create atmosphere. Language is the
communication tool that we all use, a solitary or shared
experience, as sacred as it is profane, possessing a
commonality that can be as expressive and joyful, as it
is functional and utilitarian. My work brings text to life
through the visual expression of words and speech.
It is painting with language.
